In the last several years Croatian Motorways have built a fantastic highway. It takes you all the way to Split and the portion Split - Dubrovnik should be completed by 2009.

From Split you have these options :

~ take the ferry boat to Korcula or Vela Luka located on the other side of the island

~ drive to Drvenik where you can take the ferry to Korcula

~ drive to Ploce where you can take the ferry to Trpanj located on the Peljesac peninsula and drive to Orebic to take the 15 minute ferry across to Korcula

~ coastal driving on road Jadranska Magistrala, then through Peljesac peninsula to Orebic where there is a 15 minute ferry boat ride to Korcula.
